Jim Parke

Jim Parke is the Managing Director of Parke Lawyers, which acquired Holt & Macdonald in 2012. He has since overseen the continuation of the Ringwood practice and its longstanding commitment to practical legal advice for individuals, families, executors, trustees and business owners.

Jim has practised law for more than 30 years. His experience spans commercial law, wills and succession planning, estate litigation, employment law, dispute resolution and corporate governance. He frequently advises on complex matters involving businesses, trusts, estates and family wealth structures.

The Law Institute of Victoria has accredited Jim as a Specialist in Commercial Law. He has also been recognised by Doyle's Guide as a Leading Wills & Estates Litigation Lawyer and a Leading Wills, Estates & Succession Planning Lawyer.

Jim's combined legal, accounting and governance experience enables him to consider matters from several professional perspectives. In addition to being a lawyer, he is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of CPA Australia. He holds postgraduate qualifications from Queensland University of Technology, Bond University and the University of Oxford, where he completed a Master of Science in Major Programme Management.

Jim reviews legal content published in the Holt & Macdonald Information Centre. His involvement helps ensure that the firm's public legal information reflects current Australian law and provides practical guidance for clients in Ringwood, Melbourne's eastern suburbs and beyond.

Jim is a Certified Professional Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and a Member of the Business Continuity Institute. He serves on the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Technology and the Legal Profession and is a Life Member of the Oxford Union.
